  • Condition: Engine has been track tested and is operational. Cleaned commutator and replaced brushes and grease in gear box. Greased drive wheel gears and oiled axle bearings and connecting rods, etc. Tender whistle operates and motor has been serviced, i.e. cleaned commutator, replaced brushes and lubricated whistle plate bearing. Tender has small paint or whatever imperfection on upper right side.

    Description

    Lionel OO Scale/Gauge Pre War 5342 NYC 003/003T Semi-Detailed 2-Rail Engine and Tender 1939-42.  Track tested, operates and E-unit cycles at 8.0V. Chassis is straight and the tip of the Pilot is above the railhead. Frequently Lionel OO chassis are bent in the front and, if sufficient, the Pilot contacts the railhead causing an electrical short. Bent chassis can also be detected if the steam chests's cast valve guides are not parallel with a flat surface and are slanted upwards.
    This combo would be close to LN except for the paint imperfection on the tender's upper right side. Unclear how this could have occurred.
