RARE BEAUTIFUL DRESS SWORD FROM CHRISTIAN TEMPLER CRUSADE KNIGHTS OF ST. JOHN. 1800'S?? GERMANY I THINK. BLACK HANDLE HAS SOME WEAR IN FINISH. STILL HAS ORIGINAL CHAIN AND SCABBARD. VERY DECORATIVE. SEE PICTURES FOR CONDITION. KNIGHTS HEAD POMMEL. UNIQUE COUNTER CROSS GUARD WITH PATRIOTIC EAGLE IN THE CENTER. SIVER METAL SCABBARD WITH K.ST.J. THE SCABBARD HAS A ORNATE VICTORIAN BOTTOM TIP. Blade in very good condition. FOUND IN FAMILY ESTATE AND BELONGING TO GREAT UNCLE.Sorry this is not actually a Masonic sword. There are lots of groups with similar names, but this sword is for a group called the Knights of St. John International. It’s a old Catholic Union Fraternity. Note: The actual historical crusading Knights of St. John also still exists, but it’s now called SMOM and has nothing to do with either of these other Knight of St. John fraternal “tribute” groups. manufacturers used to make stuff for lots of groups for all of these groups so I know it’s confusing.
