EARLY KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS K of C INSCRIBED SWORD W/ SCABBARD, BUSH & LITTLETON, PEORIA, ILL., SOLINGEN, GERMANY
Here is a beautiful very early, very ornate, and beautifully designed knights of Columbus K of C ceremonial fraternal order sword, made by Bush and Littleton, of Peoria, Illinois and the blade made in Solingen, Germany.  Bush and Littleton swords are exceedingly rare, as well as German made blades for fraternal order swords, and this one has made in Solingen Germany, on one side of the blade base, and the name Bush & Littleton, Peoria, Illinois on the other. One very unique feature of this sword is the hand grip, a chocolate brown with ornate ivory colored detail of knights and early warriors fighting on either side of the hand grip. I cannot decide if the material is bone or molded celluloid, but please note there is a hairline crack in one side of the grip. The cap for the blade is not there as the photos reflect. A beautiful ornate detail unfortunately is muted by the age and surface rust on the blade, as shown in the photos. The amazing detail molded on the scabbard as well as the cloisonne enamel crown with cross medallion in the center make the scabbard in itself an amazing work of art. There are very unique features on the molded scabbard including a crowing cock, rooster, a suit of armor,  early medieval crusader molded on one side, and amazing detail molded on the wrist guard as well. Please review photos.
