28.66 gram slab of Andamooka opal

Description

Here is a beautiful high flash full rainbow slab of Andamooka opal. This is stabilized with a sugar treatment. The Andamooka opal is opalized sandstone from Australia. Inorder to be safely cut and polished it is treated to ensure that it stays together and will bring a nicer shine. This is very interesting material as the color play shifts patterns seemingly random, and like other opals has color flash from all sides. This piece can be polished us as is or I would recommend it be sliced into a few smaller cabochons. But it is up to you. These photos are all completely dry under LED. I was going to get full sun shot, but today's weather looks like it won't happen. These sparkle so much in the natural sunlight.
